The Telangana government has invited German enterprises to invest in its growing semiconductor and advanced manufacturing sectors, aiming to establish the state as a prime semiconductor manufacturing hub in India.
During a high-level meeting held at the Secretariat, IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu urged a visiting delegation from the German Indian Business Alliance (GIBA) to actively encourage German firms to explore manufacturing and technological opportunities in Telangana.
The GIBA delegation was led by Manfred Ockel, the Mayor of Kelsterbach, Germany. Welcoming the delegates, Minister Sridhar Babu highlighted Telangana’s ready industrial ecosystem and strong talent pipeline.He stressed that Telangana offered an ideal setting for foreign semiconductor companies that wanted to diversify their presence around the globe.
The Minister assured the delegation of full government support for any companies coming in, offering quick administrative clearance, strong infrastructure, investment incentives, and appropriate training facilities. He noted that though the German companies would benefit immensely from the skilled technical manpower of Telangana, the state wanted to tap into the precision engineering and advanced manufacturing processes that Germany had expertise in.
In addition to semiconductors, there were also talks about investments and partnerships in other high-technology industries such as life sciences, aerospace, defense, electronics, automotive manufacturing, and automation systems.
One of the proposals made at this forum was to create the Telangana-German logistics corridor. The Minister said that the establishment of such a corridor will be beneficial for the exports from Telangana to Germany and Europe because it will improve their supply chain and reduce transportation obstacles.
Moreover, Sridhar Babu asked the representatives of GIBA to educate the European trade associations and industry people about the impending “Telangana Rising Global Summit 2026,” which is going to be held from 7th to 9th of December in Hyderabad.
The discussions were attended by many eminent personalities from industries and trade association, among whom was Selvakumar Periasamy, chairman of GIBA, Nirmal Raman Kannaiyan, CEO of GIBA, Stefan Witkindt, CEO of Rhein-Main Innovation Hub, and other senior officials from FTCCI, including K.K. Maheshwari, Srinivas Garimella, and Vinod Kumar Agarwal.
