The fifth edition of SEMICON India will be officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 17 th at Yashobhoomi (India International Convention and Expo Centre), New Delhi.
Marking another significant milestone in India’s semiconductor journey, SEMICON India 2026 will bring together key stakeholders from across the global semiconductor ecosystem, leaders from government and industry, industry experts, academia, government officials and students.
India’s semiconductor journey has been gaining significant momentum under India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) through the Semicon India Programme. Twelve (12) projects approved under the Semicon 1.0, aimed at building a robust and resilient semiconductor ecosystem in the country. Further, the Union Cabinet has approved the next phase i.e. Semicon 2.0, to accelerate the development of a robust and resilient semiconductor ecosystem in India.
Jointly organized by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and SEMI, the three-day summit is centered on the theme “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem.” The exhibition will feature over 500 exhibitors, more than 240 international companies, and official delegations from over 40 countries across 15,000 square metres of space. Global industry heavyweights, including ASML, Applied Materials, Lam Research, Tata Electronics, Micron, and IBM Research, are scheduled to participate in high-level country roundtables, supply-chain dialogues, and strategic technology sessions.
With the Union Cabinet’s approval of Semicon 2.0 backed by an expanded fiscal outlay of ₹1,27,500 crore, the upcoming edition aims to broaden India’s focus beyond basic manufacturing toward advanced packaging, indigenous chip design, specialized equipment, and raw materials. In addition to commercial deal-making and state-level pavilion showcases, SEMICON India 2026 will place special emphasis on workforce development, academic-industry research linkages, and integrating homegrown start-ups into the global electronics supply chain.
